Privacy Policy

What I collect when you book, why, who sees it, and how long it’s kept. Last updated October 17, 2026.

The short version

  • I collect only what I need to run your session: your name, email, your engineering background, your notes, and any files you upload.
  • Payments go through Stripe. I never see or store your full card number.
  • Uploaded files are deleted automatically 90 days after your session, or right away if a booking is cancelled or never paid for.
  • No ads, no analytics trackers, and I never sell your information.
  • You can ask me to see, correct, or delete your information at any time.

What I collect

When you book

Your name and email; your engineering field, the subfield you’re interested in, and where you are in your career; your session type and time; your time zone; anything you write in the notes box; and any files you choose to upload, such as a resume or job posting. I also record that you agreed to the booking policies, and when.

When you pay

Payment details (card number, billing ZIP, and so on) go directly to Stripe, my payment processor. I receive only confirmation that you paid, the amount, and a payment reference I can use for refunds.

Automatically

Like any website, the servers that host this site process your IP address and basic browser information in order to deliver pages and block attacks. I don’t store your IP address with your booking. To stop people from tying up time slots with fake bookings, the site keeps a scrambled, one-way version of it (a keyed hash) for a short time, which can’t be turned back into your address.

The site doesn’t use advertising or analytics cookies, and it doesn’t track you across other websites.

How I use it

  • To schedule your session, create your Zoom meeting, and send you a calendar invite.
  • To prepare for your session by reading your notes and reviewing your files.
  • To take payment and issue refunds under the booking policies.
  • To contact you about your booking: confirmations, changes, and answers to your questions.
  • To keep the booking system safe from spam and abuse.
  • To keep the business and tax records I’m required to keep.

I don’t use your information for marketing unless you separately ask to hear from me.

Who it’s shared with

I never sell your information or share it for advertising. I use a few trusted services to run bookings, and each one receives only what it needs:

  • Stripe processes your payment and any refund.
  • Zoom hosts the session. The meeting is created in my Zoom account, and its description includes your booking details so I have them on hand during the call.
  • Google (Google Calendar) holds the session on my calendar and emails you the invite. The event includes your booking details and private links to your files.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site, stores booking records and uploaded files, forwards email sent to my contact address, and runs the “verify you’re human” check on the booking form.
  • Google Fonts supplies the site’s typefaces, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.

I may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect my rights or someone’s safety.

How long it’s kept

  • Uploaded files: deleted automatically 90 days after your session. If you cancel, or a booking is never paid for, they’re deleted right away.
  • Unfinished bookings: if you start booking but don’t pay, your time slot is released within about 40 minutes and your files are deleted.
  • Cancelled sessions: the Zoom meeting and calendar event are deleted.
  • Booking and payment records: kept as long as I need them for business, accounting, and tax purposes, then deleted.

Stripe, Zoom, and Google keep their own records under their own privacy policies.

How it’s protected

The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Uploaded files are stored privately, and each download link is a long, unguessable link that works only for that one file. Only I can see your booking details.

Your calendar invite contains private links to your files and to your Manage booking page, so treat it like a ticket and only forward it to people you trust. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask me to send you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@firstprinciplescareercoaching.com and I’ll respond within 30 days. Some records, like payment records, may need to be kept for a while for legal or tax reasons; if so, I’ll tell you.

Uploading files is always optional. You can book without them.

Children

This site is for students and working professionals. It isn’t intended for children under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes and contact

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top of this page. First Principles Career Coaching is based in Tennessee, USA, and your information is processed in the United States.
